If you’re like me, you love the taste of coffee, love to sit around with friends and enjoy a cup (or more!) together while your littles run free and make friends. Chicory “coffee” is an herbal alternative to coffee and is made of chicory – a flowering plant from the dandelion family. It is blended with various herbs, sometime dates or figs along with natural flavorings, like vanilla or cocoa, to deliver a nutty and woodsy flavor to your beverage. It can be brewed just like your normal cup of coffee, used in a french press or added to an espresso machine and to be honest, smells and tastes similar to coffee. I love that it has a similar mouth feel and vibe of real coffee without all the added ingredients, caffeine or acid.
